Ceremony to appoint the Honorary Consul of Viet Nam in Odessa

On May 27, 2021, the Embassy of Viet Nam in Ukraine held a ceremony to appoint the Honorary Consul of Viet Nam in the province of Odessa to Mr. Nguyen Van Khanh. Attending the ceremony, on the Vietnamese side, there were the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Viet Nam to Ukraine Mr. Nguyen Hong Thach, heads of divisions of the Embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese associations throughout Ukraine. On the Ukrainian side, there were Chairman of the Ukraine - Viet Nam Friendship Parliamentary Group Mr. Bragar Evghenhi Vadimovich, Head of Southeast Asia Department, the 4th Region Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mr. Isachenko Dmitri Anatolevich, Vice President of the "Ukraine - Viet Nam" Soceity, President of the Women's Union of Ukraine Ms. Gerasimenko Leokadia Vladimirovna, General Secretary of the "Ukraine - Viet Nam" Soceity Mr. Chervanchuk Sergey Anatolevich, Mr. Nguyen Van Khanh and his spouse.

Under the authorization of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam Bui Thanh Son, Ambassador Nguyen Hong Thach handed over the Decision No 896/2021/QĐ-BNG dated on April 27, 2021 of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam appointing Mr. Nguyen Van Khanh to be the Honorary Consul of Viet Nam in the province of Odessa.
Delivering remarks at the ceremony, Ambassador Nguyen Hong Thach congratulated Mr. Nguyen Van Khanh and expressed hope that the newly appointed Honorary Consul of Viet Nam, with his enthusiasm, capacities and prestige, would actively consolidate and strengthen the traditional and friendly relationship of Ukraine and Viet Nam, support the Vietnamese community in the province of Odessa, and contribute to further enhance the interests of the two nations.
The honorable guests also congratulated Mr. Nguyen Van Khanh and expected that the first Honorary Consul of Viet Nam in Odessa would make practical contributions to the relations of Viet Nam and the province of Odessa in general and the development the beautiful port city of Odessa in particular, and at the same time, enhance voice and position of the Vietnamese community in the city.

In his turn, Mr. Nguyen Van Khanh expressed his great honor and sincere gratitude to the leaders of the ministries of foreign affairs of the two countries and the help of the Embassy of Viet Nam in Ukraine for approving his application to be an Honorary Consul. He promised to devote himself to develop the Viet Nam-Ukraine relations and to build up the Vietnamese community in the province of Odessa in order to gain practical benefits for the both nations. /.
