The Vietnamese Embassy in Ukraine would keep a close watch on measures to protect the Vietnamese community in Ukraine, where changes are taking place.

A representative from the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affair made the point in response to reporters’ questions on protection measures for Vietnamese citizens there.

Around 10,000 Vietnamese people are living in Ukrainian big cities such as Kharkov, Odessa, Kiev and Donesk.

So far, none of them has been affected by recent changes in the country.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Ukraine has closely worked with Vietnamese associations in Ukrainian localities to ensure safety and security for the Vietnamese communities, especially in areas where disputes occurred.

The Embassy also assigned staff to promptly handle and support Vietnamese citizens who may ask for coming back home.
